Tukulti-ninurta II

The reign of Tukulti-ninurta II was brief (six years), although he achieved an important victory over Bit Zamani in north-west Mesopotamia, thus opening up a path to Anatolia (Kuhrt, pg. 482). In addition, he left a detailed account (RIME 2, A.0.100.5) of a military tour around Assyrian holdings, essentially going in a clockwise loop along the Tigris, Euphrates, and Habur starting at Assur. Here he collected much tribute without resistance. At this time he also mounted a punitive expedition against the Mushki.
